New Entrants & Existing Firms allowed to apply for new Family & Civil Contracts

On the 12th  of November 2022, we published an article trailing the LAA’s plan to issue an interim tender in 2023.

The LAA has now published that tender and it is open to the following entrants:

This procurement process is open to:

  • New Entrants seeking to deliver publicly funded civil legal aid services; and
  • Existing Providers who hold a 2018 Contract and who are seeking to deliver publicly funded civil legal aid services in additional Categories of Law; and
  • Existing Providers who hold a 2018 Contract and who are seeking to deliver publicly funded civil legal aid services from additional offices / Procurement Areas.

The LAA is tendering for providers in the following categories of law:

  • Family
  • Housing,
  • Debt and Welfare Benefits
  • Immigration and Asylum (including work at Immigration Removal Centres (“IRCs”)
  • Mental Health
  • Community Care
  • Claims Against Public Authorities
  • Clinical Negligence
  • Public Law
  • Family Mediation
  • Education
  • Discrimination

The deadline for submission of tenders is 5pm on 31st March 2023

The Contract Work awarded under this procurement process will run from 1 September 2023 to 31 August 2024.
