As is traditional for us at CPM21 at this time of year, we reflect on the last 12 months for our clients in the solicitors’ profession. At the time of writing this article, the new Omicron variant was spreading throughout the UK. Unfortunately, apart from Beta, Gamma, Delta, Eta, Ioata, Kappa and Lambda which have already been identified as variants, there are another 16 letters left in the Greek alphabet for the scientists to use up.

As is traditional for us at this time of year, we reflect on the last 12 months for our clients in the solicitors’ profession. We’ll start by saying that in our similar previous articles we’ve been pretty good at predicting some of the things that may lie ahead in the next 12 months, but we have to confess that nobody at cpm21 could have predicted the COVID 19 pandemic, and its ongoing effects to the UK and the world.

In our pre-Christmas article last year and the two years before, we talked about the EU, and of course – the “B” word. This still hasn’t been resolved even now, and we have to await the result of the 12th December 2019 General Election to get an inkling of how that will go. We did ask the following question last year;
“It may be this time next year the question will be “Theresa who…?”
Seems like we were accurate on that one.

In our pre-Christmas article last year and the year before, we talked about the EU and of course – the “B” word. Did you know if you say the B word three times out loud to yourself in a mirror, Theresa May will appear to tell you there is no need for a plan B?

2017 – the State of the Solicitors Profession
A Year in Review
In our pre-Christmas article last year, we asked what 2016 would be remembered for, the vote to leave the EU (now rebranded as the “EU 27”) or the spate of high profile celebrity deaths? Well 2017 didn’t seem to have as many of the latter, but the whole rumbling mess of negotiations with the EU has dragged on seemingly interminably, and as we write this article, a “deal” has been done. The first stage in the negotiation appears to be complete, but no doubt 2018 will be equally as tedious on the subject.

Cpm21 – Anniversary Edition
Yes, that’s right, we’re celebrating 10 years of service to the solicitors’ profession, which began on the 1st of July 2007…
And right from the go, we were busy helping our clients with their issues, whether that was for management of the firm, compliance for the firm, or with helping firms train their personnel.

So just what will 2016 be remembered for? The historic vote by the people of the United Kingdom to effect change by voting out of the EU? Or maybe the spate of high profile celebrity deaths that seemed to proliferate throughout?
What the general public won’t know about is all the changes and challenges that the Solicitor’s Profession saw and adapted to…after all, the maxim of the Profession in the 21st Century is definitely “Change is the only constant.” This article is just a reminder about what some of those changes and challenges were…

As is our tradition at this time of year, we at cpm21 have taken a moment to reflect on 2013 and its various milestones, challenges and controversies for the legal profession. When we wrote our article this time last year, we thought 2012 had been a year of unprecedented change....

2012 - A Year in the life of Management & Compliance Consultants
With the end of the year rapidly approaching, we at cpm21 thought we'd pause for a moment and reflect on 2012 and its various milestones. We'd have to say this has been one of our busiest years as we have supported legal practices through the many challenges and trials they have faced in these turbulent times.
