Workforce Diversity Data - Deadline Published

For 2013, the SRA will no longer offer its online Equality & Diversity survey questionnaire for COLP's to circulate to their staff.

Instead, firms are now required to collect and publish their own Workforce Diversity Data.

It is suggested in a practice note issued by the Law Society on the 9th May that firms should consider publishing this data on the firm's website or highlight its availability in their reception areas.

The SRA has issued notice to the profession that all firms should starting planning their data collection NOW and should encourage all members of the firm to participate in a survey. An example precedent form is embedded in the new Practice Note.

The regulator will require COLPs to ensure practices submit their data to the SRA by no later than 31 Jan 2014.

The reporting facility will open in the summer of 2013.

Firms that have still not trained their staff in relation to Equality & Diversity, should do so without further delay. Cpm21 can provide in-house training for all your staff at a reasonable cost.

Firms with LAA contracts should have prepared and implemented a Communications Plan in relation to their Equality and Diversity Policy. Again, our courses cover this requirement.
